Grant of Dearness Relief to Central Government Pensioners/ family pensioners at the revised rates
Orders have been issued for payment of Dearness Relief (DR) to Central Government pensioners/ family pensioners at the enhanced rate, with effect from 01.07.2011.The rate has been enhanced from 51% to 58 %.

Induction Training at Local Training Centre, ICM, Poojappura
The final batch of local Induction training programme will start from 19-10-2011. All the candidates, in Kerala Circle, awaiting induction training after completing the pre appointment formalities as per the standing instructions, will be deputed for undergoing the training.

The examination for promotion to the cadre of Inspector of Posts for the year 2011 will be held on 15th and 16th of October 2011. In Kerala Circle, no vacancy has been notified.

Tribute to our legendary leader... Late Shri. K Ramamurthi (1914-1995)
" Shri. K Ramamurthi, our legendary leader, left us on 5th October, 1995. The vaccum created by his demise is surging upon us. Let us march towards the path shown by him for the emancipation of our brethren Gramin Dak Sevaks to achieve their legitimate rights. K R was leading us courageously by fighting against all injustices. The best tribute we can give on his memory is to make a pledge that we will emulate his teachings for the welfare of Postal employees. Let us pay respectful homage to our legendary leader."

Grant of Special Allowance for child care for women with disability

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s OM No. 12011/ 04/ 2008-Estt(AL) dated 11th September, 2008 on the above subject and to state that this Department has been receiving references from various Deaprtments seeking further clarifications. The doubts raised are clarified as under: -
| (i) Whether the women employees with disabilities shall be entitled for allowance at double the rates for multiple births at the time of first child birth? | No. In case of multiple births at the time of first child birth, the woman employee shall not be entitled to this allowance a double the rates for multiple births. |
| (ii) Whether the allowance would be admissible for the 3rd child in case first two children ie. if the first child (or for that matter the 2nd child) expires before the attaining age of two years? | It is clarified that the grant of Special Allowance for child care for women with disabilities is admissible for two years from the birth of the child so long as the woman employee does not have more than two surviving children. |
