Holiday for Central Government offices on October 14th

The Government has decided to declare the 14th October 2010, thursday, as a Holiday for Central Government Offices, including Central Public Sector Undertakings, located in Gurgaon, Faridabad, NOIDA and Ghaziabad, on the occasion of the Closing Ceremony of the common wealth games - 2010.

Orders Issued for Payment of Dearness Allowance to Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS)

The Department has issued orders for payment of Dearness allowance to the Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) working in the Department of Posts, at the revsied rates with effect from 01.07.2010. By this, the DA will be enhanced from the existing rate of 35% to 45% on the Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) with effect from 01.07.2010.

The Department has issued orders (1-20/ 2008-PCC dated 24.09.2010) for redesignating the erstwhile Gropu 'D' Employees (earlier redesignated as Multi Skilled Employees Gr 'C'), as Multi Tasking Staff Gr 'C' and they have been assigned with various additional duties.

19th All India Conference of NAPE Gr 'C'

The 19th All India Conference of National Association of Postal Employees, Group 'C' is proposed to be held at Siliguri in West bengal from 6th January 2010 to 8th January 2010.
Trains will be available upto New Jalpaiguri. Siliguri is a famous hill station and is near to Darjeleeng.

New Guide book published for PA/ SA recruitment

Federation of National Postal Organisations, Kerala Circle along with Ramamurthi Study Circle, having headquarters at Kannur, have published a Guide on PA/ SA recruitment . The Guide contains previous year question papers (since 2005) along with answer key, conducted by various circles. The Guide also contains model question papers. The guide has 160-180 pages and costs Rs. 60/- per copy and on bulk purchase, the amount is reduced to Rs. 40/- per copy.

As the Department is going for recruitment of PA/ SAs in a massive way and the examination is scheduled to be held on 14th November, 2010, the guide will help the candidates in preparing for the examination.

Central Working Committee Meeting of NUPE Postmen & Gr 'D'/ MTS

The All India Working Committee meeting of National Union of Postal Employes, Postmen & Gropu 'D'/ Multi Task Staff was held from 21st September 2010 to 23rd September 2010 at YMCA Hall, Trivandrum under the presidentship of Shri C.P. Nayee, All India President of the Union.

Shri Oommen Chandi, Opposition Leader of Kerala State Assembly inaugurated the CWC. In his inaugural Speech he pointed out the relation between INTUC and our union and welcomed all the participants on behalf of Congress Party and on his own behalf and assured his fullest cooperation at all level in future also.

Shri D. Theagarajan, Secretary General, FNPO has taken active part in the CWC and addressed the participant in his befitting manner and praised the P4 Union for increasing membership in last membership reverification. He assured for his fullest cooperation in future to achieve the demands of Postman and Group ‘D’/M.T.S. in particular and all Postal Employees in general for securing a better status in restructuring.

Shri P U Muraleedharan General Secretary, NUGDS, Shri Johnson D Avokkaran, Circle Secretary, NAPE Group 'C' and various Circle leaders of FNPO affiliated unions also attended and took active part in the meeting.

The CWC ended by the Vote of thanks by Shri C. Thrivikraman Nair, Circle Secretary, NUPE Postmen & Gr D/ MTS.
